So I picked up my black Zune HD 16GB the other day at Best Buy and so far I've been using it for about 2 weeks and I'm very happy with the device. There's practically no lag, it's very fluid and fast. I can scroll and zoom through my pictures very quickly and smoothly, all while listening to HD Radio or my music collection. I really enjoy the Zune 4.0 software too, It's very handy and the Smart DJ makes awesome playlists. I also like the ability to make playlists on the fly with the device.
I have several podcasts downloaded to my Zune, which is cool, and have some nice movie trailers and other audio books as well. I am very pleased with the sound quality of the headphones, and the battery life has lasted 2 days easily with moderate use. I really like the apps too, I only wish there were more of them. This thing seems like it could play games very well. The only problems I have with the device are that the web browser is kinda quirky, it's very prone to fingerprints, and from what I can tell... there's no way to drag-and-drop files to the Zune HD's memory except via the Zune software. So basically it's not a storage device in any way... which is kind of a bummer. I also am a bit turned off by the fact that the Zune HD does not play AVI files, which makes a majority of my DVD collection on my computer useless... (I don't have the time or interest to convert files to WMV) Other than that it's really handy and I'd easily reccomend this over the ipod touch or any other media player for that matter. |
